Farmer’s Choice’ philosophy is that a quality product promptly delivered will only be achieved if clients, suppliers and staff are all treated with equal
respect. This approach ensures a high level of quality control at every stage of the production process through to the final receipt of the goods by the
customer.
The production and quality assurance teams within the plant are complemented by an equally professional sales and marketing team working closely with
the customer to ensure satisfaction. Farmer’s Choice is particularly sensitive to the dynamic needs of the market, taking care to balance supply and demand
as precisely as possible and striving to anticipate and satisfy all global market challenges.
A good relationship with suppliers is also essential, both in terms of ensuring prompt payment and offering support and advice when needed. Contracted
farmers are reimbursed their transport costs, while those who have no transport have their pigs collected free of charge.
Staff morale is given high priority. The company employs around 1000 people, many of whom participate actively in the management process: a 'hands on' management style ensures constant consultation with those on the plant floor and with representatives in the market place. This approach has created many benefits for the workers. The plant has its own medical clinic on the premises, and members of staff also take part in a co-operative savings scheme.
